Explore the traditional village life in India and the Tibetan plateau and wandering through colourful street bazaars. Wandering through winding streets, temples and monasteries throughout India.

 

Program Overview

This cultural immersion program students will explore the two major religions in India Hinduism and Buddhism. Students will have the opportunity to travel through wonderful landscapes and experience traditional village life in Naddi – Mcleodganj and Leh – Hemis. This program offers students to study and to really immerse themselves into understanding Hinduism and Buddhism through this program.

CIEEL offers students short-term programs and also the ability to extend your program up to 6 months.

 

Course Outline

Students will arrive in Delhi and transfer to Dharamsala home of the Dalai Lama in exile in India. Students will spend a couple of days on induction and be exploring the surrounding areas and staying with a local homestay family. Travel to local temples and immerse yourself in the traditional culture and religion of Hinduism. Also, students will visit the Dalai Lama Temple and explore Buddhism and the traditional practices and religion through the program.

Students will also travel to Hemis is Ladakh where they will immerse themselves into Tibetan culture and stay with a local homestay family in a local village. They will explore the many different monasteries, culture, traditions and explore the way of life in Hemis. This program will immerse students in local life, traditions and culture of Hinduism and Buddhism.
